Meeting minutes from 10/15/07

Present: Cindy, Chris, Ligaya, Tiffany, Bridget, Dorothy

1. Student services page: Ligaya and Bridget have come up with some great ideas reagarding items to include on the page and how the page should be laid out. Chris will touch base with Hugh Jarvis to see if he will advertise it once it's up and running. Time frame is the end of October.

2. Summit: Location confirmed for the Anderson Gallery for Wed. 1/9 from 12:30-4. Byblos to be contacted for catering; we are hoping the Laura will get the wine and permit for it again.

Bridget will get other drinks and cups

Chris has contacted Vicky Burns from Rochester who is the head of public services; she has not gotten back to him. The outside date to try to line her up is October 29th.

An alternative would be getting someone to speak about users with disabilities or those that are minorities - a bit of sensitivity training. Dorothy knows of a couple of people who would be excellent.

Next meeting is Monday 11/19 at 12 noon.

August 15, 2007

Present: Chris, Dorothy, Ligaya, Laura, Tiffany, Cindy

1. Chris reported on the instruction front - for the most part the UB IT

electronic classrooms - Baldy, Park, etc are booked for the semester. We

will be needingn to say no to instruction requests as they come due to this

issue.

2. ULC 257: the revamping of this course was briefly discussed. It will be

for Fall 2008. Including a wiki for the course and making it more

collaborative in nature is the general idea. Serious plans to begin after

the IL Summit is over. Please brainstorm ideas for change to ULC 257 in the

meantime.

3. Infomation Literacy Summit: More Web 2.0 ideas; how it is integrated

into students lives; Chris proposed inviting a speaker who is against Web

2.0 to speak - like an opposing viewpoints segment. It was discussed that

having a few students join would be great - like a panel discussion. Cindy

to contact Mary Moran at the Anderson Gallery regarding its use.

Food ideas included the Globe Market or the Washington Market. More info to

come!

Next meeting Mon 9/17 at 12 noon in Capen
